Taking Shape

So its all started to become very real - myself and Gareth booked our flights on Christmas Eve in Trailfinders...

So we have the beginning of our trip sorted (which we actually decided to extend) - we're going to fly into Bangkok on the 15th of February and trek up through Northern Thailand before heading south to the islands to coincide with a full moon party (absolutely mental) on the 10th of March. After that we will head towards Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, across southern China to Hong Kong and then fly d0wn to Bali for 10 days of chilling after all the travelling. That should take us about two and a half months which will mean we land in Sydney on the 1st of May (god help them all!). Amazingly all of our flights to get us to Sydney cost us just €987, which is pretty fantastic!

So since then we've started getting all the small bits and pieces of stuff ready - had the first round of shots today which was fun, bought my rucksack and some other essential travel kit. I'm planning to finish work on the 30th of January which will give me time to sort alot of stuff out before leaving (including a number of big ass piss ups!).
Next on the agenda is to sort out our visas for Australia
so I can actually earn some money to fund the rest of our adventures (damn you Gar and your TSB goldmine!)

Just a quick note on Paris too...probably one of the best weekends I've ever been away for - everything about it was amazing - got some serious culture into us, hung out with Mona Lisa and Milo de Venus for awhile, met some really cool people and had some great nights out. Paris really earns its title as the City of Lights at Christmas time - really puts a city like Dublin to shame, it is simply breath taking and Eoin and I never felt so depressed to land back into our fair city.

Last but not least HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope 2009 brings some adventures your way
